Electronic/ambient artist. I started making music more than random scribblings in the fall of 2010, around the end of November. I think I've come a long way since then!

SkyeWint's News

Hi.

So, I started posting music again, like I said. Actually keeping that promise this time, haha! It's been about a year since my last post and... a lot has happened. In fact, something has happened this last year which has changed the course of my life.

Less than a month after this same date one year ago, I had broken down from difficulties in university, again. I realized that a lot of my difficulties weren't quite reasonable in the way I had thought before. I started researching ADHD and found that almost every single diagnostic criteria resonated with me and explained many of my difficulties for years now.

So, I scheduled a mental health assessment for diagnosis, and continued researching simultaneously while waiting.

266 days ago, on May 17, 2021, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

It's hard to properly explain just how big an impact this had, let alone how much it is still having. So many things slotted into place in ways that I hadn't even considered before. Suddenly, the "walls" I'd felt between myself and other people fell into place. Difficulties with relationships, childishness in odd ways, obsession with music, synesthesia, accidentally saying the wrong thing and being rude in ways I just... didn't understand.

Incidentally, I am sincerely sorry for all of the people I've insulted by accident over the years, or otherwise been rude to unknowingly. Genuinely, I've been surprised about it the majority of the time, haha! ...but, I still regret it.

There are a lot of things I regret, and wish I could have known or understood sooner.

Maybe, then, I'd have been able to retain my focus on music.

Maybe, then, I'd have gotten help when I needed it.

Maybe, then, I wouldn't have been abused for many years and left with probable (though, unfortunately, still undiagnosed) PTSD.

Or maybe everything still would have happened the way it did. Can't know for sure.

Now, I am currently in therapy. I'm currently getting help in ways that are more appropriate. I've been accommodating my needs and scheduling.

Now, I have a new purpose too. I've been building a community for other autistic people (particularly late-diagnosed ones and minorities). I've been working on new projects.

I will still be posting music, more regularly than before as I've gradually pulled out of depression and given myself kindnesses that I had never thought I deserved when I felt so strongly that i was just a "broken human".

One of the large projects I've been working on is available here. I doubt many people will be interested in it, but it is an 80-minute long presentation about autism intended for a university class. It has a lot of information most people don't know.

I know talking about this will probably get judgement or pity or something. I dunno. Just wanted to be open about it.

Live well, everyone!

Hey there!

So, as you may have noticed, I've been posting music again. I have more projects I'm working on (including one that's... relatively close to finished) and a LOT of ideas floating about. My hope is to come in swinging and knock some of these tracks out of the park.

I have *also* added links to my Twitter and Twitch to my account.

I stream on Twitch every week on Saturdays at noon, Pacific Time. (or I try to, at least. Sometimes the stream is delayed a bit) Generally, I stream either games or creative things. I've been playing Noita, Risk of Rain 2, and occasional other games that catch my attention. I've also worked on music tracks and done music reviews on stream as well, for any interested. I may also end up drawing on stream (once I learn to do so a little better).

I post extra announcements and polls on Twitter, for things like possible twitch stream plans or for music/video releases. If you follow me closely already, it won't matter as much but still lets you give some input on things if you want to and may let you know if there's an extra stream or alteration to the schedule.

It's good to see everybody again! If ya missed me, miss me no longer! And do come hang out on stream, getting to chat with and interact with people is one of my favorite things.

Take care of yourselves, enjoy the music, and see you next Saturday! (hopefully)

And...

Spotify

iTunes

Apple Music

Amazon

I hope you all like it. Thanks so much for the support so far, I promise to continue making music!

The first proper album, to be released on *all* music platforms via Distrokid (if you want to use it, please do use this link. It's not only cheap, but you get a discount through it. Thanks!), will be put out on December 15th.

I've also cleaned up my soundcloud to have nothing but my best music. Take care!

I have more music coming, friends! In fact, TWO WHOLE ALBUMS! One is mostly music already on here, but one is entirely fresh vaporwave stuff I've been making recently.

And all of it is made on my livestream! I tend to stream at around 8PM PST at the moment, subject to change depending on how job hours change. I've also been streaming in the mornings but less consistently.

Feel free to join whenever, I'm happy to discuss just about anything while making music - and more than happy for comments, feedback, and to go over anything I do which you haven't seen before.

Link is here, friends! See you there.

Welp. I'm entering it again. Who knows? Maybe I can make it a third win in a row.

Be hyped.

It's here.

Okay. Let me break this down for everyone here. Let's focus on the sole points of audio quality and size (the only realistic points here).

For quality, it's a moot point. If you want to improve audio quality, make the port gold plated. That's what high end headphones do because gold pushes more data faster - it has better transmission of electricity. While a DAC will make it better, that is all about the components. Want to improve that? Build it into the audio output - the jack.

Headphones can put out audio proportionate to their size. Ear buds do not need to be amplified because they input sound straight into your ear. As for over ear headphones, they can be louder because they need to be. They also have higher audio quality because they are larger and therefore capable of doing so. If you want higher quality, get higher quality headphones.

Now, as for size... If you want that, invent a new standard that is literally smaller and provides good audio. Or make it usb-c or something. Chargers come with the phone and are typically made by the manufacturer. Cases have to be specialized anyway. Headphones, hell no, people want to use those on basically anything that can play music.

...

I had to save this from a site which I ended up unable to post to after writing *all of it* because of a stupid sign-up thing. Blah.

In unrelated news, what in the flying fuck happened to the editor for this. It looks like shit.

In other unrelated news, I think my chest is growing. Yaaaaay. Face is still growing crap though which sucks.

In yet other unrelated news, I'm finally working on music. Again. ...yeah, I know.

In yet other other unrelated news, I'm being laid off. So I need to look for a new job, possibly a music one (here's hoping) and otherwise try to get something better than now because I've already had nearly 2 years in entry-level positions and I really, really should get a move on.

In yet yet other other unrelated news... games. Games are fun. Particularly playing WoW again (private servers, thank you for being free) and maybe trying SS13 if I can find a server which isn't made of lag.

For those of you who don't know at this point (and if you pay enough attention to me to actually read my news posts, you probably do), I'm transitioning. Male -> Female.

And I've started hormones. I have something I plan to do, but it will take approximately 2 years to finish. So... yeah. I'm also making music for a game and being paid to do so. Trying to get other music done on the side, but that's been slow going. :(

Just an update on stuff, so you know I'm not dead!

It should be up and running by the 1st of November. I'm just working out final prizes now.

So I am slightly curious, would it be pretentious of me to offer mixing and mastering assistance for free as a prize?

I know I've gotten a bit well-known on here for being "the production lady" or whatever - otherwise I wouldn't even consider it. But, I thought I should get some second opinions before putting it in.
