I deny the use of a cactus as a touch screen.
I think that a bamboo piano would be both interesting and slightly creepy.
I also wonder what would happen if the plant was eaten by an insect while it's all hooked up.

Plants are cool. But I'm skeptical, this seems like it's kinda fake.
...is it?

Awsome!
I dont know if the plants like to be touched and abused as electrical device, but i really like this stuff because its so extremely freaky :D (the field is called bio-engineering isnt it?)
To be serious: I think this idea has a lot of potential:
- Maybe this idea can help to avoid electrical / plastic / metal waste by replacing electric conductors / Circuits / input devices with bioelectrical and ecologically renewable substances. The recycling-problem could be reduced. Aside from this aspect: Why use artificial materials if you can use natural ones with the same function?
- the more plants the more o2. Maybe the demand of water could become a problem if a lot of actual electical equipement would be replaced with plants.
- Another interesting application of this technology could be to attach the electrodes into the soil arround the property line of a building / territory and use the plants as some kind of natural motion-trackers / kind of invisible security system.
Dont know why Disney does those researches but i think its absolutely cool! Thanks for this link - definitely interesting :D
